  1. Advertising Ps2 as a PC makes sense, it did have the ability to natively run Linux and use it as a personal computer for emailing and web browsing with mouse and keyboard.

  2. We have a fetish for quality. Please buy the new Luigi game. – Nintendo in 2001

  3. Was the book about E3 2001 and Luigis mansion a reference to when he said a good compliment is Luigis mansion?

  4. I was in high school in 2001 and I skipped school, took the metro and snuck into this E3, or maybe it was the 2002 show, damn I’m old. Lol 😂

  5. It’s really strange to think about how 2001 still had N64 releases. I mean, it’s a fact I’ve known for a long time and I lived it myself by playing Nintendo 64 games during that time, but in my head it’s so backwards to think that the Xbox existed in the same year as Nintendo 64 releases.

Of course, GameCube was about to blast off and that shit is my entire life, sooooooo

  6. Luigi everytime a luigis mansion trailer comes out: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  7. Kaz Hirai was so young back then, and Iwata was still around.

  8. Luigi's mansion ened up being a gem imo. Once I played through half of it I was hooked. I love that game ❤️❤️

  9. Young Bill is kinda hot in a nerdy way

  10. Nintendo should have gone with normal DVD on the GC,

  11. 2001 was great but I think ONE of the best year in gaming was 2007

  12. its a shame to see how big e3 was….and what it has become now

  13. 15:31 SEGA was still releasing games for the Dreamcast after that! in Europe and Japan. SoA was practically a shitshow and sold their soul to Microsoft and jumped ship a year earlier.

  14. This talk about e3 2001 and how dumb and petty nintendo fans were back then is kind of surreal. You see people from the time shitting on pikmin for being new, luigi's mansion for not being mario, and shitting on wind waker because it wasnt edgy enough. It kind of shows that, no matter how much time passes, nintendo fans will always be the bottom rung of society and laughing stocks to the rest of the sane population

  15. 6:36 the person who made "The Guy Game" after leaving Retro Game Studios

  16. In every video suggestion I've seen from you, your topics seemed interesting. I subscribed a while back because you seemed cool after I learned a bit about you when your Twitter account got stolen but I still have yet to watch any of your videos.

I think I'll change that, starting with this video.

  17. Wow … This video is like a portal to the past.

  18. Your videos feel different somehow from the others who upload on similar topics …

They feel more genuine & original. I like that.

  19. People always talk about how much power you need. I disagree – Nintendo beat all other handheld makers despite pretty much always having the weakest handhelds and the PS2 was only stronger than the Dreamcast in its generation, yet it still received WAAAAAY more support than the GameCube and Xbox.

Goes to show it's not just power that drives a console.

  20. 2017 will always be the best year of gaming for me. Nintendo switch comes out. Breath of the wild, Persona 5, Resident Evil 7, Cuphead, Horizon Zero Dawn, Destiny 2 (year one did suck though), Prey, Nioh, Crash remastered, Neir Automata, Gravity rush 2, Wolfenstein The New Order, Middle Earth, and lastly Mario Odyssey. Just amazing game after amazing game the entire year and the switch proved that Nintendo could still make a damn good console.

  21. The tone of "you can't steal it" might be my favorite thing ever.

  22. I was born a month after this and even I have to admit E3 was way more important.

  23. Today I learned Pikmin released on my first birthday here in NA

  24. Man, memory lane. I remember downloading a lot of the videos since cable internet had reached out area. Time sure does fly.

  25. i've been clearing out my giant gaming backlog, and i recently started prioritizing playing all the older games (recently 100%/completed games like morrowind, the first witcher game, fallout 1/2/tactics, and currently working on 100%ing gta 3 rn) so to be able to see this stuff is just awesome.

  26. I skipped Melee so I remember freaking out when I saw the Ice Climbers on the Smash Bros Brawl Dojo. One of my favourites on the NES.

  27. Pikmin and Mario Sunshine are my favorite games on the Gamecube, in my opinion, the Gamecube is Nintendo's best console next to the DS

  28. jesus that Melee reveal still gives me goosebumps

  29. Another masterpiece, thank you for the time travel!

  30. Hey look a scott the woz video time to not be depressed

  31. I was born in that year so gaming industry was booming

  32. I'm glad this series exists because I can't really remember anything before 2018. It's all a blur

  33. I still got to say pikmin is my favourite Nintendo game probably of all time something about the music, and style, the small bits of character diolog we get it’s all so good

  34. I came out after the gamecube but I'm still nostalgic about this era

  35. The Kingdom Hearts joke killed me off. I forgot Disney Skateboarding existed until now, childhood memory unlocked

  36. When the E3 Scott is talking about is more recent than you, it hurts

  37. I was at this E3. Man what a great time it was. First time I got to play on an Xbox was playing Simpsons road Rage. Weird thing is Halo look like garbage. Little did we know six months later it would have turned into the killer app for the Xbox.
